Legacy Program

Draggin Dobermans & Great Danes

You can step back.
Your legacy can keep moving forward.

You’ve put years into your dogs—breeding, training, showing, and earning titles. When you’re ready to step back, we want to help give that work a future.

The Draggin Legacy Program is for breeders and owners of conformation champions, performance dogs, and working dogs who want to preserve their bloodlines. Whether you have frozen semen you may never use or a breeding you would still love to see happen, we’re interested in talking.

Let’s Talk About Your Program

You’ve proven your dogs. What comes next?

You know what it takes to prepare a dog for the ring, work toward a title, and keep coming back until the pieces come together. Behind those accomplishments are years of training, conditioning, breeding decisions, and a relationship with the dog.

Maybe you’re retiring from breeding. Maybe you still enjoy showing or training but no longer want to raise litters. Or perhaps you preserved semen from a dog you were proud of, and now you’re wondering whether you will ever use it.

We want to work with people who have made that investment in their dogs. Together, we can explore frozen semen arrangements or breeding partnerships where we handle the agreed whelping and raising responsibilities while you remain involved.

Titles give us a place to start the conversation. We also want to understand the dog’s health, longevity, temperament, pedigree, and what you believe he or she can contribute to future generations.

Frozen Semen Partnerships

Give those plans a chance to happen.

Behind a collection in storage may be decades of breeding decisions and a dog you believed had something valuable to contribute.

We’re interested in discussing:

  • Frozen semen you no longer expect to use.
  • Purchases, transfers, or shared-use arrangements.
  • Breeding partnerships that preserve your involvement.
  • Our legacy storage option, with free storage under an agreement that preserves your control and use during your lifetime and provides for transfer to Draggin after your passing.

We want to hear about the dog, his relatives, and why you chose to preserve him.

Whelping & Raising Partnerships

Stay involved. Let us handle the litter.

If you have a breeding you still want to pursue, we can discuss taking on the whelping and raising responsibilities while you remain involved in the parts you enjoy.

Together, we can work through:

  • The breeding you have in mind and whether it is a good fit.
  • Care of the dam, whelping, and raising the puppies.
  • Your involvement in decisions, evaluations, and placements.
  • Expenses, compensation, puppy selections, ownership, and breeder recognition.

Each partnership is discussed individually, with responsibilities and terms agreed upon in writing before moving forward.

Why This Is Personal

A relationship built on trust.

Tina has been trusting me with her dogs since I was a kid helping at dog shows. Back then, it meant holding a dog for her. Years later, it meant selling Courtney and me our first Doberman, Diamond, and then Draggin.

When I think about that now, I think about how that trust grew over the years. I went from wanting a Doberman of my own to building a breeding program with dogs that came from hers.

Tina Marshall of Mariah, Luci Stubbs of von Koepsel, and Mike Penny of Paradigm worked together breeding and showing dogs. Their dogs became part of the foundation of our program, and now we have the opportunity to help carry those bloodlines decades into the future.

That means something to me. I know the people behind those names, and I remember the dogs. Being trusted to continue that work is a responsibility Courtney and I take seriously.

That’s the kind of relationship we want this program to grow from. We want to know what you’ve worked toward, what you value in your dogs, and what you still hope to see from them.

Your experience belongs in the conversation.

A pedigree can tell us who a dog came from. You can tell us what those dogs were like to live with, how they aged, what particular breedings produced, and what you would do differently.

We want that knowledge to come with the bloodline. Health records, DNA results, longevity, temperament, structure, and reproductive history all help us understand the opportunity and make thoughtful breeding decisions.

Any breeding partnership depends on the suitability of the dogs involved, available records, reproductive feasibility, and veterinary guidance.

Questions About the Program

Do I have to give up ownership of my frozen semen?

That depends on the arrangement we make. A purchase, shared-use partnership, and legacy storage agreement each involve different terms. Under the legacy storage option, you retain control and use during your lifetime, with the agreed transfer to Draggin after your passing documented in writing.

Can I stay involved without raising the puppies?

Yes. That is one of the main reasons for this program. We can discuss how involved you want to be in planning the breeding, receiving updates, evaluating puppies, and making placement decisions while we handle the agreed care responsibilities.

How are expenses and puppy selections handled?

Each partnership is negotiated individually. Expenses, compensation, puppy selections, ownership, registration, and breeder recognition are discussed and agreed upon before a breeding takes place.

What should I send you?

Start with a little about yourself, your program, and what you have in mind. Registered names, pedigrees, health records, and longevity information are helpful. For frozen semen, include the storage location, available inventory, collection records, and any semen evaluations or ownership documentation you have. You do not need to have everything gathered before contacting us.

Is the program limited to Dobermans and Great Danes?

Our breeding program focuses on Dobermans and Great Danes, and those are the partnerships we are seeking through this program.

Let’s Talk Breeder to Breeder

Tell us about your dogs.

You don’t need a finished plan. Tell us what you’ve built, what you still hope to produce, and what you want your next chapter to look like.
